Miscellaneous stuff
Well here it is, the 27th of December and all the packages have been opened and played with. We ventured out on the 26th to spend some gift certificates for the kids and now they are happy for the time being. Still working on my "Gingerbread Cottage" by CCN and hope to have that done, completed, finished in time for the New Year. I really want to start something with more brighter colors to it, so I'm going to go out on Saturday to my LNS and see what kind of Valentine's Day stuff they have in stock. Nothing else to report, except that Chris (DH) and I celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary on the 23rd. I STILL cannot believe it's been 15 years. Time has gone by so fast and I love him more now than I did when we first got married, if that's possible. I took a picture of my nieces and nephew with my kids at the in-law Christmas and hope to post that soon. The last picture of the "grandkids" was when my father-in-law took the picture and that was when Sam (my baby) was about 15-18 months old, so we were overdue for a new picture. Hopefully it has turned out alright. We desperately need a new camera, the 2.0 megapixel one is just not cutting it any longer.

Stupid Ice Dams
Well 'tis the season for tons of ice and snow on our roof. Well husband did as good of a job as he could snow-raking the roof to get the snow and some of the ice off. BUT, my windows in my living room, bathroom and bedroom are leaking!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be glad when the sun melts some of this crappy stuff off my roof!!. My husband went out over the weekend, on a ladder no less and chopped away at some of the ice and removed it. But with the thawing and refreezing of the stuff on the roof it................ well, just leaks into my house. I'm not a happy camper at this point but there is really nothing I (we) can do about it except just to keep the roof and gutters semi-ice free. But this is Wisconsin remember so the weather WILL change. Oh how I wish for either Spring to show up or move to someplace warmer........... a girl can dream, can't she??

SNOW DAY!!
The top picture is my WIP of "GingerBread Cottage" by CCN. In typical Milwaukee (or Wisconsin) fashion, we are having a snowstorm. The kids got an unexpected day off from school and are enjoying it with the neighbor kid. Nichole decided that today was a jammy kinda day so she is taking FULL advantage of it. We were supposed to get an ice storm but we will happily take the snow over ice anyday. It looks pretty but I don't want to shovel it so I'll leave that for my husband to do when he gets home from work. LOL

Snowy Days in Milwaukee
I thought I would share a couple of pictures of the snow (so far this season) in my neighborhood. It looks so pretty but I wish it was warmer (like above freezing at least). The green house is mine. And nope, we don't have Christmas decorations on the house, no place to put them.
I'm about 1/2 done with a project called "Gingerbread Cottage" by Country Cottage Needleworks. I'm liking how it's turning out and hopefully I'll post a picture sometime over the weekend.

Finished projects!!
I just came back from my LNS and got these pieces back from the finishers. The top one is a Country Cottage Needleworks ornament (from the JCS 2007 ornament issue), the middle picture is a SamSarah Pearl and the bottom one is for my daughter and it's also a SamSarah Pearl pattern. Husband should be happy that I didn't charge anything this go around. Use up all my mad money, now what to save up for next??

promised pictures
The first picture is that of a completed Red House Sampler by Heart in Hand. The second picture is that of a Sam Sarah Pearl that I completed for my daughter's room, just needs to be made into a little wallhanging. And the last picture is of my shaved cat Lisa, her fur will come back but for now she just looks so darn funny, almost like a Lion.

No much happening
Thought I would blog a little and let you know that I'm not doing much lately. I caught whatever my son Sam had and I feel miserable. I've been this way for a week now and finally went to the doctor for some antibiotics. I hope they kick in soon. We had to get our Maine Coon cat, Lisa shaved because her fur was matting up so badly. She's really funny looking but we still love her. Can't wait until her fur comes back in and hopefully we won't have to do this too often. I've been stitching on "Red House Sampler" by Heart in Hand. Hopefully I will post a picture soon. I also bought some more stash (like I need it!!!LOL) and will post pictures in the coming days.
Hope everyone is well and I'll post pictures soon. Hopefully one of the shaved cat.

First Day of School
Well it went off without a hitch sort of. My older kids got picked up by a friend so they were excited about that. I walked Sam to school for the first time and we had some seperation issues. We both were teary and hopefully he is distracted enough to learn something. I promised him I would be back at the end of the school day to pick him up and he seemed okay with that. I forgot to take pictures as we were running a tad behind schedule, but will take some after he gets home. Now what to do with my time??

My life is somewhat back to normal.
WELL, It's been a few days since I last blogged anything so I decided to catch you up on things.
My son Sam learned how to ride a 2 wheeler (see previous blog entry) and is happy that he can do this now. My husband went on interviews and got a job offer which he took. He started last week Wednesday and they like him so much that he gets to go back next week. My kids are back from Door County, Wisconsin. They had the opportunity to spend about 5 days with my sister in law and brother in law at their tree farm. They had a blast but I'm glad they are home. We registered the kids for the new school year and I never seen so much money go flying out of my checkbook before but they need the stuff and they NEED to go back to school!!
I'm still stitching on Lizzie Kate's Summer from A Banner Year series and hope to get this done soon so I can start something that my daughter wants for her room. It's small so there isn't an excuse why I can't get this done. I'll post a picture when I actually start it but the colors are beautiful.

My Baby isn't a baby anymore....
Like he hasn't been a baby in a long time but this just verifies that he is really growing up. He can ride a 2 wheeler without training wheels. We had this bike in our garage for about 3 years and it was just buried in junk. Well, my husband cleaned the garage and found this bike and Sam decided to sit on it, then I caught him riding it. He is SO proud of himself and we are just tickled that he can do it. Another rite of passage for a 7 year old.

Framed cross stitch picture and finished project
The first picture is a completed piece designed by my friend, Tanya. I started it about 5 years ago and FINALLY finished it earlier this year. It's called "Alphabet House" and I just love how it turned out.
The other picture:
Like I needed another project to do, but this was so cute and quick I just HAD to do it. It's a Sam Sarah Design Studio design called "Love and Country!" It's from their Pearls series. I'm going to go back to the LNS and get another one to do while at my in-law family reunion in a couple of weeks.

My other 2 cats
For some reason, some people couldn't see the pictures so I'm trying again to do this. The cat on the bottom is our newest cat Lisa, she's 2 and plays the part of a 2 year old. We got her in February of 2007 and she's a lot of fun. We think she is a Maine Coon but not really sure on that, The top picture is our oldest cat, Maddie, she's 8 and she is a pure Siamese cat.

Cross stitching
These are 2 of the 4 Trilogy seasonal themed items I got framed. I had them in a plastic bag for 3 years and finally found them and had them framed. I had them use the frames that were recommended for them and I think they turned out great. Now our wall in our dining room doesn't look so bare. I still got Autumn and Winter to either finish or start, something to add to the never ending list of cross stitching things I want to do.

One of my cats
Since this is my first try with blogging, I thought I would put a picture of my cat,Sasha on here to see how this whole thing worked. Sasha is 5 years old, BIG and FAT, but she is the sweetest cat. We got her from the Humane Society about a week after we put our previous cat down. I just had to have her. Isn't she pretty??
